As every year, there are important dates to consider when planning your children and family's holidays in the 2024-2025 school year. The education system in the Netherlands sets holiday periods at different date ranges for each region. Kerstvakantie (Christmas Holidays)

-All regions: 21 December 2024 - 5 January 2025

The Christmas holidays offer an opportunity to get together as a family, celebrate and spend time with your loved ones.

Voorjaarsvakantie (Spring Bank Holiday)

-Northern Region: 15 February - 23 February 2025

-Central Region: 22 February - 2 March 2025

-South Region: 22 February - 2 March 2025

Spring holiday is a time when you can enjoy the beautiful weather and be in touch with nature.

Meivakantie (May Bank Holiday)

-All regions: 26 April - 4 May 2025

The May holidays are a period suitable for both resting and participating in different activities as it is a long period.

Zomervakantie (Summer Holiday)

-Northern Region: 12 July - 24 August 2025

-Central Region: 19 July - 31 August 2025

-South Region: 5 July - 17 August 2025

As the summer holiday is a long period of time, it offers an opportunity to make unforgettable memories with your children by making your plans in advance. Many families go to Turkey during this period to see their loved ones. This is also the most expensive period for flight tickets.

Important Information About May Holidays

Schools may extend the meivakantie (May holidays) by one week. OCW recommends the dates 19 April - 27 April 2025. You can consult your school guide or the school's website for the correct dates.
