I went there with my friend and the male supermarket clerk in this store discriminated against women and made racist jokes at us and purposely mimicked accents in a ridiculous way. This offensive behaviour was very disappointing. The female clerks in the store were more friendly. The two stars are for the female clerk.
For 18 years I have been a customer of this nice supermarket. Friendly and helpful staff, fresh fruit and vegetables, packet beans and pasta, sometimes some olives and dairy products, but especially meat, are what we are always happy with. Fresh, deliciously marinated and the barbecue skewers are also the best in the Netherlands!
Ben: An Asian woman, went into town alone and two men working there started laughing at me and shouting "taichi" "nihao" which are common discriminatory Chinese words for Asians. I went back to find justice for myself. The man called "nihao, taichi" told me that English is not allowed in the store but apparently Chinese is encouraged, especially when greeting customers. Please remember to say "nihao" and "taichi" to everyone there, apparently this is their language of welcome to all customers.
